Day #4
Friday 15 August

The host team are up early to prepare for the day.

They are also the Children of God!

Fr Piotr (SAC), Bettina, and Joanna set up the garden for Open Space - the process the assembly will use over the next two days

Open Space is a method for large group discussion which will help to generate the ideas and commitments that will help CLC to live more deeply and effectively as an apostolic body.

The delegates gather in the tent for morning prayer. "I stand before you Lord, you accept me just as I am."

Edward Warrington prepares the delegates for a day of Pentecost experience - to be transformed by the Holy Spirit.

The principles of open space discussion are explained: whoever comes are the right people, when it starts is the right time, when it´s over it´s over. Whatever happens is the only thing that could have. Be prepared to be surprised!

Delegates are free to suggest their own topics for discussion and to encourage others to join them.

There are over 60 topics displayed in the marketplace written in French, English and Spanish.

The law of two feet applies - Delegates choose when and where they you want to go.

Some delegates are bees who move from group to group pollinating them with new ideas. Others are butterflies, who flutter beautifully around the outside of the discussions.

Small group discussions take place in a mix of many languages all over Verbo Divino Seminary.

Lunch and other breaks are taken outside picnic style.

Each small group produces a document to hang on the news wall.

It is a day full of energy and passion- ideas, sharing, debate, questions, laughter and noise.

The whole group comes together at the end of the day.

Antoine from Syria invites the assembly to an evening of Arabic dancing.

Indian delegates sing their national anthem to celebrate Independence day.

The Latin American delegates lead the Eucharist

After a hard day´s work the delegates dance the night away – Arabian style!
