Day #7

Monday 18 August

Morning prayer led by the Middle East delegates begins with the Hymn of Creation and ends with the Our Father in many different languages.

The assembly listens attentively to Fr Adolfo Nicolás, Superior General of the Society of Jesus and World Ecclesial Assistant of CLC-CVX.

Impressed by the dedication and depth he has found in CLC, he says that he will speak to the assembly as if to Jesuits!

He calls CLC-CVX to become a Prophetic Community, guided by the spirit of God. To see the world with the eyes of God, listen as God listens and feel with the heart of God. Finally, but only then, the Community should speak the words of God.

The work of the next days is to discern the mandate from Fatima 2008 to the new Ex-Co and all the CLC-CVX world community.

Delegates begin working in small groups to explore eight connecting themes: Experience of the Spiritual Exercices; Formation; Membership; Commitment to the CLC way of life; Leadership; Collaboration between the Society of Jesus and CLC; Networking of apostolic initiatives; Financial co-responsibility.

The Asian Pacific delegates lead a mass rich in symbols and ritual.
