Currency

The Euro (€) is the official currency of Portugal. In circulation there are bills of 5€, 10€, 20€, 50€, 100€ and 200€, and coins of 0,01€, 0,02€, 0,05€, 0,10€, 0,20€, 0,50€, 1€ and 2€.

Telecommunications

In Portugal all telephone numbers begin by 2. If you wish to call Fátima from abroad, for instance, you should dial 00 351 followed by 249 and then the local number. In the public phone boxes it’s possible to use coins and cards sold in the Portugal Telecom offices, post offices and on some identified kiosk and shops. The countries’ dialling codes are fixed in the telephone boxes.

Climate

The climate of the Fátima Region is under the influence of the Atlantic Ocean, therefore, having a pleasant weather all year round. In summertime, however, the climate might get rather hot and dry. In the evening, temperatures may descend a lot, though it’s never cold compared to the rest of Europe. So, every delegate must be prepared both for hot days and fresh evenings.
